Este o afirmaţie făcută de Kate Nelson, oficial Volition, care a declarat că echipa din spatele jocurilor Saints Row 2 şi Saints Row: The Third a fost nemulţumită de modul în care THQ a ales să promoveze aceste două jocuri.
“Marketingul unui joc trebuie să surprindă spiritul acestuia, iar folosirea imaginilor starurilor por*o a fost o abordare care nu s-a potrivit cu tema principală a seriei care este parodierea”
Kate Nelson a mai spus că spiritul seriei se regăseşte şi în Saints Row IV, chiar dacă în joc se găsesc striperiţe, iar un dildoeste folosit pe post de armă.
De menţionat că atât seria Saints Row, cât şi studiourile Volition se află acum în proprietatea Koch Media, jocul urmând să fie publicat de Deep Silver pentru PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 și PC pe 20 august în Statele Unite și trei zile mai târziu în Europa.
